Camp Goodtimes on the Road (Week # 2)
Campers will take part in a week of full day field trips to places generally within the Washington, D.C./Baltimore/Richmond metropolitan area. The enriching destinations will include museums, zoos, paintball, skating, boating, ropes courses, swimming and more. Parents/Guardians will be given the specific itinerary in a welcome newsletter approximately one week prior to the start of camp.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Zen Zone, an aftercare program, will be available at RCC Hunters Woods until 5:30 p.m. for a nominal additional fee.
Location: Parents must check in campers at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods each day at 9:00 a.m. They must pick up campers at 4:00 p.m., unless they are registered to participate in Zen Zone; if so, they are to be picked up by 5:30 p.m.
Lunch/Snacks: Campers must bring a bag lunch, drink and two snacks each day, along with a filled water bottle. Please do not pack items that require refrigeration as refrigerated storage is not available.
Camper Gear: Campers must wear their camp T-shirt and rubber wristband (both of which will be provided on the first day of camp) and carry a backpack that supports their bag lunch, snacks, a filled water bottle, and a change of clothes. Campers are also welcome to bring a book. No digital devices, please. RCC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Camp Sessions: Swim days are typically on Fridays. Wear a swimsuit under the camp T-shirt and apply sunscreen before camp. Pack a large plastic bag for wet items, towels, goggles and hats. Flip-flops are
permitted on swim days only. Some field trip destinations require earlier sign-in and later pickup. Camp registration will be closed on the Thursday prior to the week of camp.
